We perform a limited number of orthopedic procedures at our facility. Because we want to ensure that our patients receive the best possible outcome, we occasionally refer them to board-certified orthopedic surgeons to perform back surgery and other very complex surgeries.
Tears of the cranial cruciate ligament, aka ACL, are the most common orthopedic problem seen at our facility. They can be treated by a few different types of surgical procedures. Some procedures are more beneficial for small versus large dogs. Here at Plymouth Road Animal Clinic, we perform the MRIT procedure (Modified Retinacular Imbrication Technique).
Please contact us if you have any questions about these procedures or if you think your pet might benefit from them.
