Dr. Jennifer Wehler,

Veterinarian/Practice Owner

Dr. Wehler aka Dr. Jen, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2005 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 2009. She has been practicing at Plymouth Road Animal Clinic since graduation. In January 2016, she became sole owner of the practice. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, internal medicine, and client education. Dr. Wehler and her husband Jim share their home with twin girls, Bella and Mia, a large hound named Elmer, and three cats, Belle, Jack, and Lucy. In her spare time she enjoys golf, fishing, reading, and playing with her baby girls and furbabies.

Dr. Kathryn Ardis

Veterinarian

Dr. Ardis joined our team in May 2016. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Michigan and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University in 2011. After graduation, Dr. Ardis practiced small animal medicine in Chicago for 5 years, prior to returning home to Grand Rapids. Her special interests include ophthalmology, feline medicine, and client education. She shares here home with two cats; Desi and Calvin. When she isn’t working, she enjoys running and gardening.

Dr. Michelle Walker

Veterinarian

Dr. Walker began working at Plymouth Road in August 2016. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, and in 2012, her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. Her special interests include dentistry, general surgery, talking with clients, and forming long-term relationships with her clients. Dr. Walker and her husband Ryan have a beautiful daughter named Emma, and a spunky kitty named Andii. Dr. Walker’s hobbies outside of work include spending time with Emma, gardening, hunting, kayaking, fishing, and couponing!

Melissa Bosma

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Melissa has been working at Plymouth Road since 1998. She completed Michigan State University’s Technician Program. At work, she enjoys client education and the fact that every day is different! She shares her home with her husband Kevin, her son Lachlan, as well as her dogs Penelope and Bubbles, her cat Gretel, and many chickens. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, the beach, and her chickens!

Holly Weber

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Holly has been part of the team since 2000. She graduated from Michigan State University’s Technician Program in 1999. While at work, she enjoys microscope work and playing with cats! She shares her home with her husband Travis, children Gage and Ainsley, three cats named Yoshi, Meadow, and Reuben, as well as many chickens. When she isn’t working, she enjoys camping, boating, and playing with her kids!

Janet Fehsenfeld

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Janet has been working at Plymouth Road since 1998. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University, as well as completed the Michigan State University’s Technician Program. Her favorite thing about her job is patient care. She shares her home with her husband of over 30 years, Donnie, her dogs named Emma and Winnie, and her cats named Slinky, Elfie, and Dobby Nelson. Outside of work, Janet enjoys gardening, walking, and spending time with family.

Marie Zimmerman

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Marie joined the PRAC family in May 2017. She graduated as an L.V.T. from Baker College in 2009, but has been working in the field since 2004. Her special interests are parisitology, client education, and continuing education. She shares her home with her husband Aaron, two daugthers Elise and Allison, and six dogs named BRN-E, Captain, Eve, Hudson, Kori, and Hershey. Her hobbies outside of work include softball, camping, traveling, spending time with family, water sports, and competitive weight pull with her dogs.

Tanya Sturgess

Receptionist/Office Manager

Tanya began working at our practice in 1994 as our Receptionist and Office Manager. She loves the flexibility of her job and also feels that she has the best boss ever! She shares her home with her husband Gregg and two cats named Pinot and Grigio. Outside of work, Tanya enjoys playing poker and gambling and makes it a point to visit Vegas every year!

Taylor Holwerda

Receptionist

Taylor joined our team in July 2017. She received her Associate’s degree in Science at GRCC with interest in Wildlife Biology and passion for the outdoors. She’s been working in the veterinary field for the last three years. While she loves most everything she does, her favorite thing about her job is the awesome clients (and the furry patients.) She shares her home with her partner Nick, their three cats; Eywa, Hendrix, Goblin, and their dog Orion. Her hobbies outside of work include going to see live music, the outdoors, and cuddling at home with her own furbabies.

Sarah Gillins

Receptionist

Sarah began working at Plymouth Road in December 2017. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University in Environmental Conservation and is passionate about nature. Her favorite thing about working at the PRAC is being able to help clients and their pets, especially in time of need. She is a proud mother of a young daughter named Leona, born spring of 2017. Her own pets consist of an orange tabby named HoneyBear and a small terrier mix named Quinn. When not at work, Sarah loves going on walks and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Brianna Heiss

Veterinary Assistant

Brianna began working at Plymouth Road in 2014, helping to keep the clinic tidy, and then recently has been trained as a veterinary assistant. She loves helping with patients in the treatment area, and being able to observe surgeries. She has a dog named Joey and a cat named Stanley. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and pets.

Thelma

Years in Practice: 15
Interests: Being pretty, EATING A LOT

Thelma is our resident Princess.  She tends to sit on her throne at all hours of the day which is why she is rarely seen.  She is a beautiful girl, and she knows it.  Thelma always has a lot to say.  She has been at our clinic since 2003.

Fuzzy

Years in Practice: 5
Interests: Catnip, tuna fish, lounging in the office

Fuzzy has been with us since 2013.  She is shy but is slowly becoming more adventurous.  She has an addiction to Yeowww Catnip Bananas and tuna fish.  When not resting, she enjoys taking over the office and “helping” type medical notes.

Oliver AKA Whipper AKA Wayne

Years in Practice: 4

Oliver has been with us since summer of 2014. He has many names and answers to any of them, most of the time. He is a very fun boy! He loves his food!!!
